NEW NAMES FOR FLOWERS
New Names for Flowers by Dan Cook
The exhilaration of the California sun after a lifetime on the east coast. Unfamiliar flora. Decay, drought, beauty, death, depression, yearning, and joy. The Angeles Forest, just outside of L.A. New places, new names, new vibrations. The fragility of it all. A state of mind.
Dan Cook's "New Names For Flowers" was shot 2010-15. On the cover is an illustration of a Mandrake plant. This plant is known for it's anthropomorphic root, hallucinogenic and narcotic properties, and is associated with magic and the supernatural.
